Summer Reading Wish Lists...

With Summer here...that means I am ready to be able to read more. Norah told me she wanted to make a list of all the books she wanted to read this summer so I told her I would do the same!

Here is a pic of her list...

I think it is amazing that she loves to read. She actually is asking for some of the books for her birthday and then we will hit up the library a lot this summer.

Okay so here is a random selection of books that I would like to read this summer...

I actually just finished "The Hurricane Sisters" this week and it was an easy read. It was fun to read a book that took place in Charleston and knowing all the places that were talking about.

Next up is "Behind the Beautiful Forevers"...I had borrowed this book from a friend awhile back but returned it because I never got around to reading it. I picked it up for a couple of dollars used at the local library so now I am going to finally read it. I've heard great things about it.

"The Namesake" is a book that I own and has been sitting in my TBR pile for awhile so hope to get to it this summer.

"The Rumor" and "Circling the Sun" are books that will be released this summer so anxious to see the reaction to them.

The rest are random books that I have heard about from different sources so look forward to getting my hands on them! Plus I still have several other books in my TBR pile that hopefully I will get to read soon too. Any books I should add or any comments about the ones above?

Great lists!!!! I LOVED The Storied Life of AJ Fikery, but I can't tolerate language, so I think I ended up putting it down. My motto has always been: if a kid can't pick up the book I'm reading, then maybe I shouldn't be reading it either. If you stick it out, I'd love to hear what you think.

Behind the Beautiful Forevers and Circling The Sun caught my eye!

I don't know how old your daughter is, but you two should both read "Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library" by Chris Grabenstein this summer! I read in one day last summer and absolutely LOVED it! It's a literary puzzle that you can solve right along with the kids in the book (there's also a riddle Grabenstein left for his readers to solve, so be sure to read the note at the very end of the book!).

I put my summer reading list up Monday along with links to last year's list and my favorites from last summer.

I read "The House Girl" by Tara Conklin last fall and that's a book that's still with me! If you haven't read it yet, you might enjoy it this summer!

Victoria,
I loved "Escape from Mr. Lemocello's Library" as I used to teach school and we read it together in an Enrichment class. A perfect book for my daughter and I to read together this summer. I also will check out "The House Girl" as I love hearing about books that people have enjoyed! Thanks!

Jillian Kay,
I have really enjoyed other books by Sarah Addison Allen so figured it should be pretty good. I love that "touch" of magic in her books!
