Oh I have missed you!

I can't believe how long it has been since I have updated the blog...so much has been going on that it is a blur! So I will just try to put a few things on here to help jog the memory one day of what was happening and I'm sure I will back track one day and add things for this time frame.
First, "Blogger" is all new and I have no idea how to work it yet so I just uploaded all the pictures not knowing what order it would be in so I'll just talk about the pictures as they have them inserted...Picture above is proof that the Easter Bunny came to our house! He hid eggs and everything...Norah loved it!

I read all the "Shades of Grey" books...they are good (Very Adult Only) and then I read "On the Island" by Tracey Garvis Graves and it was great! I really loved it!

I received my Mother's Day gifts early from Norah and this is one of them...I love it! She is the sweetest!
So of course, we are following through on the above statements and we are currently at the beach! It is fabulous! I just love being here! The weather here is amazing!

The biggest reason that I have not blogged is that we sold our house! The day we put it back on the market...we got an offer and poof....long days and hours later...sold! We are now living with Jeff's mom until we move again! We loved our house and hope the new owners enjoy it as much as we did!! Happy Memories!
Just found out that Harry Potter books are now available as an e-book for Kindle!! Yeah! You have to buy them from Pottermore.com
This past week at school was Teacher Appreciation Week and I got some really cute notes from students and they did a few things for us at school but wanted to share one note from a student that I thought was so cute! See below...
Also one student brought me Starbucks one morning...I was so excited!! They know me so well!!
Well now on to a very sad note, Jeff's dad is not doing well at all so we are headed back to Charlotte today. Keep Jeff and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Hope to get back to posting and taking lots of pictures again soon....

I Heart Spring Break!

(Sorry about the "devil" eyes in the pic...taken with Anna's phone) So Spring Break 2012 started for me this past weekend and we headed down to Charleston for Jeff to run the Cooper River Bridge Run and hang out with my friend Anna and her son, Fuller. We had a blast! Thanks to Anna for letting us stay with her and we hope to visit again soon! Norah and Fuller had a great time playing together too!
Norah drew a picture of a trophy for Jeff for running the race. Besides the hour delay in the start...he had a great time and finished in 54 minutes! He is getting faster and faster! :) (These are his stats below)
Then Sunday we headed to Pawleys Island and enjoyed the beach. Norah loves the beach...she grins from ear to ear when we are there!
We also got to try out the new restaurant in town "Louis at Sandford's" where we had some oysters and it was great! Can't wait to go back and eat a meal there!
Norah and I headed back to Charlotte on Tuesday and she was very excited to play with our neighbors...here is what she played in yesterday outside! She is so cute!
And today I took Norah to see the movie "The Lorax" and we loved it!! I really loved it and it is definitely one that I could watch again. I love the message of the movie...can't wait for it to come out on DVD!! Well this week has been busy, productive and wonderful...I really don't want it to end! At least I have three more days... :)

The weekend that flew by...

Okay, I'm hating "blogger" lately. It has been so difficult to blog lately as the formatting and stuff is all messed up. Perfect example...I wanted to write this above the picture above but it won't let me no matter what I try...so frustrating! Anyway this past Friday night I saw "The Hunger Games" with my neighbor and I liked it but it was not as good as the book (I know...I know...everyone says that.) It is just that in the book you hear so much of what Katniss thinks the whole time and that piece is missing from the movie. It also seemed that the Games were like "camping" instead of "hey you are miserable and close to death kinda stuff." But I loved Woody Harrelson in it...classic!

So the picture above is a replica of the "Menger Sponge" which is a famous Fractal. See, Saturday morning I was up bright and early to go with 9 girls to the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival at UNCC. We had a great time and it was so neat to see all the creative activities they had and seeing our middle school girls excited about math!

Sunday was on the relaxing side and Norah, of course, played hard with our neighbors...I believe they were super heroes this day!!! They have their capes on and they were "flying" around the yard. It was so cute! I just love them!
I was sad the weekend ended as it went by so fast...it was like a blur. I did finish reading "Matterhorn" and enjoyed it. It was good to read about the Vietnam war which I was unfamiliar with but I for some reason thought it had more of a plot and followed characters maybe outside of the war zone but it did not. It was about a particular time, people and situation...but there are scenes from the book that will stick in my thoughts always...so I am glad I read it.
Well the question I always ask is, "what to read next..." and I have so many choices! I have been hearing a lot about the book "Fifty Shades of Grey" lately and now they are talking about making it into a series for HBO or a movie? So it has me curious but we'll see....
Another random note...I have seen a few previews for the movie, "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen" and for some reason I really want to see it. Since next week is my Spring Break from school, maybe I will get to head to the movies.
Speaking of Spring Break....this Friday we will be headed South so Jeff can run in the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC. It should be a fun time!

This weekend...

This weekend we did a lot of cleaning and got the house back in gear to go back on the market. It officially for sale again and we are hoping for a quick sale. We are ready!! I also made homemade laundry detergent and dishwasher soap...loving it so far!

Norah played hard all weekend outside and then we headed to two birthday parties at My Gym on Sunday back-to-back! She was a trooper through it and had a blast!
The warm weather seems here to stay so I have been making sure Norah has clothes/shoes that fit (she grows like a weed!) and getting my closet back into Spring/Summer clothes too...I swear I barely wore any "real" winter clothes this year. Well I have an early meeting the next two mornings at school, Friday I will be seeing "Hunger Games" movies with my neighbor...so excited and then Saturday I think I am attending an all girls math event at UNCC with our students. Whew! Well I'm off to get a couple things done before bed time!

Three.1 Things Thursday...

1. Yesterday was Pi Day and also Albert Einstein's birthday. If I had thought far enough in advance I would have gotten this shirt to wear to school...for you non-math people...it is "i eight sum pi"...my students would have loved that one! :)2. Seriously saw this recipe via on-line and um....yummy! I may have to make it soon!! http://ladywiththeredrocker.com/2012/03/08/cinnaboncinnamon-roll-cake/

3. So I hope to finish "Matterhorn" this weekend...really good book...and I can't decide what will be next. I heard about two more trilogies, "The Bronze Horseman" and "The Ripple Series"...so added them to my Amazon.com "Wishlist"...I love having that thing to save books I hear about so I can remember them!
"The Rippler" is one I can borrow for free...and you know I love FREE!
3.1 I love the weather but poor Norah I think has allergies and her nose is like a faucet outside and she has a cough at night. I have started giving her Zyrtec at night before bed and it seems to help some. I also feel a little unprepared regarding warm-weather clothes so need to pull everything out and see what we got that will work for now...for me and Norah!

Three Things Thursday...

1. Norah...she is so sweet! So I figured out since I don't carry my pocketbook around that much...I have been taking less pictures because I don't have my camera on me. So I am going to try to remember to start carrying my camera again so I can always take a pic. I'm lacking in the Norah picture department these days. I took this pic with my iphone tonight and I thought I would share something funny she said today.
On car ride home from school...
Norah: I am going to draw a picture of a red Toyota truck like Daddy's but Daddy's is white
Me: Daddy doesn't have a Toyota...it is a Chevrolet
Norah: It is a Toyota because that is what the symbol is on the front of it....I saw it.
Me: Okay, well what kind of car does Mommy drive?
Norah: A Hoppe car because there is a "H" on the front
**I thought this was hilarious! ("H" is for Honda by the way....)
Norah is also obsessed with "The Big Bang Theory" show as she loves the opening song! It is cute!
2. Recipes. I made this one tonight http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/09/cooking_with_my_punk-ass_little_sister_penne_a_la_betsy/ but of course I made some tweaks, a little less butter and oil, no parsley, cut up the shrimp raw and added it to the sauce, and used angel hair pasta but seriously it was so good that I swear it is better than a restaurant!!! You need to make it now!

And this is a recipe I do want to try....http://www.ladybehindthecurtain.com/?p=25106

I mean seriously how yummy does that look! I bet they taste better than the real thing!
3. And something to make you laugh....
You so know that has happened.... :)

This past week...

These last few days have been family centered as Jeff's dad had to go into the hospital. There was a lot of unknowns and he has now moved to another hospital and there still could be another move in the future. So we have been praying for everything to work out and trying to help Jeff's mom anyway we can during this time. It has been a stressful situation for the last couple of years, especially for Jeff's mom, so say a prayer for everyone...

So last week at school was Crazy (yes, that is a capital "C") but this week has been great which has been so nice since I want to be able to help Jeff anyway I can...I also hope to get back on track with working out...today I was able to go for a walk and it was fabulous!

Other random things I have found on the Internet this week...

I am so going to make my own laundry detergent...check it out here http://www.designfinch.com/2011/07/17/homemade-laundry-detergent/
Also I found the cutest ideas for packing a kid's lunch that I will definitely be using this summer and for Norah in kindergarten next year! See it here... http://www.theidearoom.net/2010/08/kids-home-lunch-ideas.html
And I think I found a way to purchase movie tickets in advance for "The Hunger Games"...my neighbor and I are planning on going the Friday it opens. :)
Oh yeah...we originally thought our house would be back on the market this week but with Jeff's dad we decided that next week would probably be better...so keep your fingers crossed!
