Movie, Swimming and a Princess...

My mother-in-law and I went and saw "Water for Elephants" at the movies on Wednesday. I really liked the movie and of course...how cute is Robert Pattinson in it! I liked the way they changed it up from the book to fit into two hours but I did miss a few things...but again...how cute is he? :)

Norah started swim lessons this Thursday and she did great! She loved it and the minute it was over asked "can I do it again?" So cute!

It was really cute to watch...there were 4 kids in the class, a teacher and a helper. All the kids are 3 in her class too. I am so glad she loved it and no tears! Literally the teacher called her name and she went right into the water...no hesitation. The parents sit behind a railing and get to watch. She will get to go once a week.

And of course, how beautiful is Princess Kate! I admit I did not get up to watch the wedding but have seen bits and pieces of it today...it is very fascinating. They seem very sweet together and it made me think of Princess Diana today. I think we should all start wearing hats to weddings...there were some really interesting ones! I loved Kate's dress too...so elegant!

(I hope the spacing issue is resolved...if not...I have no idea how to fix it!!)

Movie, Swimming and a Princess...

Yard Sale, Easter and Strep Throat...

Well after a lot of prep work...we had our first yard sale on Saturday morning. Here is what my dining room and living room looked like on Friday...

My foyer and hallway were packed too! We got up Saturday at 4:30 am and put the stuff out...it was misting some so thank goodness Jeff had some plastic that we put over everything. But the weather didn't stop anyone...someone was at our house at 6:20 am!! And thank goodness we got a babysitter to watch Norah during the sale...it was a HUGE help as I am not sure what we would have done if we didn't have Ashley come over. We did really well and celebrated our success with a lobster tails! We got some at The Fresh Market that night and grilled them up...it was so good! The yard sale was hard work but glad we did it...and hope to not do another one for awhile!

So we woke up Sunday morning and it was Easter! Norah was excited about her Easter basket and we just took it easy...Jeff and I were still pretty tired from Saturday.

Then we headed over to Jeff's brother's house to have Easter lunch with his family. After a yummy lunch everyone was a good sport about hiding eggs for Norah to have an egg hunt...she had a lot of fun!

So after the egg hunts...we had dessert which Norah said she wanted but then didn't eat it...I thought that was strange but she was tired. Well we got home and within an hour...she complained about a sore throat and had 101.4 temperature. Last night she was up like 6 times complaining of her sore throat and still had fever. So off to the doctor today and she has strep. So today was not as productive as I had hoped but at least we have Norah on some medicine now and she should start feeling better. I hate seeing her sick! Now I am off to do a couple things before heading to bed.

Last post....???

Can't think of post title...

1. Jeff and I have been together 9 years this month. We met at the Heritage Golf Tournament in Hilton Head, SC....well we met at a bar at night but it was during the weekend of the tournament! I would love to show you a picture but that was before I had a digital camera...just picture us...thinner, tanner with whiter teeth! :)

It was a great weekend (so many stories) and who knew that I would marry the guy who told me "you smell good" (obviously my good friend "Kendall Jackson" helped!)

2. Can someone please make me this cake please? I want red velvet on the inside and the roses to be cream cheese frosting...okay?! You can check it out here

3. Zac Brown Band is coming to Charlotte...how much do I love "Colder Weather" right now....but they are playing on July 3...can you please come back on a weekend when I am not at the beach as Jeff and I would love to come hear you. Thanks!

4. We had neighbor night this past Friday night...I love neighbor night...you get to drink, talk to adults, eat and your kids get all their energy out! Love it...so ready for the next one!

5. Norah got her hair cut this past weekend. We were going to get something to eat and then get it cut but she told me that she had to have it cut before we went...she is such a girl! :)

6. We are having a yard sale this weekend and I cannot wait to get this stuff out of our house...it has taken over the foyer, hallway and living room....Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

7. School is crazy busy right now...and so is house stuff....Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

8. Norah has an Easter Egg Hunt at school today...she was very excited about that. I feel there is candy involved. She is also Top Dog tomorrow at school and then she is out of school for Friday and Monday.

I am really liking listening to a book "on tape" (now I guess it is book on ipod) while I work out. Speaking of working out...I still am working out whether it be walking outside, DVD or gym visit...but running has been on break.

Can't think of post title...

Easter parade, Mickey Mouse and Random Stuff...

This week has been crazy busy but then again...when is it not these days! So Norah had her Easter parade on Wednesday. They have a parade at school for Easter and Christmas where they walk around the school twice with their class dressed in a theme. (There school is really big!) My camera is starting to die on me...it is freezing up a lot and not taking a picture and when it does take a picture...it has not been good. So during the parade I missed some great pics of Norah but oh well...what ya do? I hope we can get a new camera some day soon but in the mean time...bad pictures to be expected. So here is Norah's class during the parade.... Norah was the last one in the line....

Since my camera was crapping out I tried to go to her room afterward and take a pic but it came out bleary too...bad camera!

So today we took Norah to see Mickey Mouse's Magic Show at the Arena in Charlotte...we rode the "train" which Norah loves...here is Daddy and Norah waiting for it...she loves when she sees it coming!

We had the best seats ever....we were on the floor...4 rows from the front...center...I mean we were right at the stage!! They wouldn't allow you to take pics during the show so I just took this pic of the curtain before it started. I didn't zoom in at all...that is how close we were!

We told Norah she could have one thing there...she picked a snow cone in a Minnie Mouse cup...she was excited about that!

Jeff tried his best to get a good pic of Norah and me...after three tries...he gave up! :)

The show was great! We have taken Norah to 4 shows....a Nick Jr. show/Dora, Toy Story 3 on Ice, Singing Christmas Tree, and this show...we have loved all of them! Jeff and I thought the Nick Jr./Dora was the best so far...but she has loved them all the same!!

When the show ended, streamers and confetti came down and since we were right at the stage...she got to go play with some... she is too cute!! :)

I wonder what our next family show will be? So I got home and I was supposed to go to wine night tonight at a friend's house but just couldn't get there in time. However, my neighbor called and we are having our neighbor night tomorrow night where there are 4 neighbors getting together to eat dinner, drink some wine/beer and the kids play! So excited about that....

Okay onto the random notes...so since I have been watching "House" now...really liking it!...I knew that I knew Dr. Wilson from somewhere....

He was the kid who committed suicide in Dead Poets Society...how weird...right?

So I finished "Water for Elephants" (not sure if I had mentioned that) and now I so cannot wait for the movie...I mean I do love Robert Pattinson...lots!

Well I am off for a little down time for once!! :)

Easter parade, Mickey Mouse and Random Stuff...

Weekend party...

Saturday afternoon we headed to a birthday party of a friend of Norah's that was turning 4. They had a clown there doing magic and face painting...it was really cute!

She also made balloon bracelets which Norah loved too!

And by the end of the party she had some type of headband on too! Too cute!

Of course I had to snap a pic of the cute hubby! He is wearing his glasses right now as he is out of contacts until Friday!

The party was super fun and was supposed to last from 4 to 6 pm. However, a big ole' storm came through with lots of rain and hail so we didn't leave until after 8 pm!!! A big thanks to the hosts for letting us hang out until the hail stopped. I wish I had taken a picture of the hail and I wish I had someone take a picture of the three of us together...I always forget about that! My car did get some hail damage but not too bad. Yesterday we just lounged and were lazy...and watched the Masters on TV.

Jane Eyre the movie is out but it only playing at one theatre in Charlotte...I want to go see it...just gotta find the time! Well another busy week is upon us...gotta get to work!
