This is seriously what I have to ask myself everyday as I feel a little behind (overwhelmed) these days. Let's see what has been happening...a lot of work action for myself and Jeff. I do love what I do...I know I am very lucky to work with great people and love my "children" each day so my "feeling behind" is really based on not enough hours in a day and the balance of home life. Anywho...Norah has been enjoying her normal activities...art, yoga, hip hop/jazz, game night, and even a friend's birthday party. She is as cute and fun as ever. The weather here is super wacky and I now am officially ready for Spring to be here. The time changes this weekend so maybe the weather will change with it. Come on Spring!
I did go to the most amazing conference I have been to in a very long time or maybe ever. I was lucky enough to be able to go with our Senior girls to the
Women's Leadership Conference that was put on by Coastal Carolina's Women in Philanthropy and Leadership and it was AMAZING!
Not to get on my soapbox but I really believe there is a different path that women (girls) need to take to truly embrace a leadership role in the world. I could talk forever on the matter (Thanks Glenn and Amanda for listening to my rambling all about it!) as I feel strongly that girls need to learn at an early age about the skills it takes to succeed and desperately need to see strong women role models as examples in their lives. Anyway, I so enjoyed all the speakers and a few that stick in my mind are:
Sharon Epperrson,
Wendi Nix,
Kathrine Switzer,
Nathalie Dupree, and
Marguerite Willis. Again, I could go on and on about all I heard and how motivating and wonderful the whole day was...I highly recommend all women attend and give back in some way to other women or girls so they understand that they can accomplish all their goals! Off soapbox....
"Scandal" is back on and I love me some Olivia and Fitz! Cannot wait till Thursday's new episode.
I have not had a chance to watch the rest of season 2 of "House of Cards" but I plan on fixing that this weekend...because trust me there is not a day goes by that I don't feel like Frank...
Books...well I have finished two lately...
"Goldfinch"...I so wanted to love it but it was just okay. For 800 pages I need "wow" and it just wasn't there. Some parts were really good but overall someone needs to learn how to edit...that book could have been done in about 500 pages. "Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library" is a book my 6th graders are reading for some extra enrichment and I thought it was really cute. The kids seem to like it too!
I wish I had some cute pics of Norah to add but I have fallen down on picture taking again...gonna do better! But here are a few funny things for you...
1. This is how I feel it has been a good day at school...
2. This is probably why I don't sleep much...
3. And by Friday nights...
So here is hoping that Friday gets here soon!
Until then...watch this...it will make you "Happy" :)
