Catching up, the Tiger girl and Halloweens past....

It is hard to believe it is already Sunday and another week will start tomorrow...where does time go? Last week week we lucked out as we received a gift card from Nancy to a local place where you can buy food to go called "Get Carried Away"...so I was able to buy all our meals for the week which made cooking/clean-up super easy.
I saw the movie preview this weekend for "Life of Pi" which looked really interesting. Since it is made from a book...I feel the need to read the book before I could watch the movie...do you ever feel like that? So it might move up on my next "to be read" book list...
Last night we had two friend couples over with their kids for a get together to celebrate some Halloween. I am so mad that I didn't get a pic of all the kids with their costumes on...we had a Tiger, vampire, skeleton, ninja and even Elmo! Norah was a Tiger and I let her pick out whatever she wanted and this is the stuff she choose...she was SUPER excited to wear it and cannot wait till Halloween to wear it again! She was precious!
(You can see one of the chalkboard walls I painted...I did one in her playroom and one on one of the garage walls.)
We all had a great time and the adults had chili, kids had hot dogs, football on the TV and Sally brought over a box of Crumbs Red Velvet Cupcakes...OMGosh! Yum! They are so good...definitely wanting a box of these for my birthday now!
We loved having everyone over and cannot wait for the next gathering!! Norah was so tired when everyone left, we quickly got her ready for bed and then she took all the glow sticks that were left and went to bed...
she was out! It was so cute! :)

And of course seeing Norah dressed up for Halloween just makes me think about how much she has grown these past years. I just want to stop time and not let her get any older! :)
Here is her last year at Halloween as the (Click each one to go to the post and pictures) Mermaid 2011, Princess Belle 2010 and Halloweens 2007-2009.
Well it is time for bed...I worked out Monday-Thursday last week...the Friday is still slipping by...this week I'm going to try to get that Friday in too!

Tuesday Things...

I forgot to put a pic of Norah last week as she had pictures at school...she was really excited about wearing her dress to school since they wear uniforms every day. The lighting is a little bad in the pic but she still looks so super cute...can't wait to see the pictures they actually took of her at school!

This weekend we headed to the Wooden Boat Show held in Georgetown which was a lot of fun!
My aunt and uncle had sponsor tickets which allowed us to go into a tent which had all you could eat food, drinks and even a tv with the game on...we also saw and met lots of people...which was fun! Norah also got to make her own boat...

Then Norah tested it out...it floated! She loves the boat and took it to school on Monday for show and tell!

I realized that the new Bond movie, "Skyfall" comes out November 9...so excited! I love the Bond movies with Daniel Craig! He is definitely one of my celebrity boyfriends! This movie might be part of our Anniversary celebration/night out!
Also another movie that is coming out November 16 is "Breaking Dawn: Part 2" which I will be seeing too...November = Movie time for me!

Last week I got to the gym 4 mornings, week before was 4 days and so far this week I have done 2 so hoping to get over the 4 and to the 5 days a week where I go Monday through Friday and maybe take the weekend off? However, the food at work has been out of control...candy, donuts, etc....seriously they put a huge pumpkin full of the good candy (ya know the mini candy bars and stuff) on my desk...so cruel! :) Just say "NO!" So I probably need to work out 6 days of week!

Also laundry has been taking over my life. Seriously I have one child but now seem to have never ending laundry to do...how to people keep up with it? I need some tricks of the trade about it or something...

And to leave you with some Halloween spirit...Norah, my mom and my aunt decorated our front porch...Norah loves it!!

Three Things Thursday....

1. I was on Pinterest (already made a recipe off it too!) tonight looking at some random things and came across some quotes/jokes and laughed so hard that I was crying and then that made Norah start laughing...and we literally couldn't stop laughing...love it!
2. Norah got her first official report card today! She did great! It was two pages long with a ton of things..report cards have come a long way from the few grades they used to give you! :) For her reward, she is geting the DVD "Madagascar 3" tomorrow

3. I have found that I have not been watching any TV shows this fall except "Big Bang Theory", Football and "Homeland." And of course, I am waiting for "Downton Abbey" to return. But seriously "Homeland" is awesome...can it get any crazier! And loved that she finally got to see that she was RIGHT!

Well I'm off to watch NFL game because we somehow have the NFL network now...we don't question good things like this...we just appreciate them! :) So excited tomorrow is Friday! Wahoo!

The Weekend Recap...

Friday was Jeff's birthday! And speaking of birthdays...today is my sister's, Capi, birthday...so HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAPI...we hope you are having a great one!
On Friday Jeff was actually in Charlotte so he got back and went directly over to our friend's house for FFF (Family Fun Friday) night. We had a lot of fun! So much that the next thing I knew it was 9:45 pm...I think that is one of the latest times Norah has ever stayed up...needless to say, she was exhausted! Thanks to the Keyser's for hosting this one! Earlier in the night we did sing "Happy Birthday" and Jeff blew out candles on a cake that my mom and Denny made for Jeff.

So he had a great birthday...he got to see his mom and brother in Charlotte and then spent it with Norah, me and some great friends when he got back home! It was so much fun...can't wait for the next FFF night!

Saturday we took Norah to horseback riding lessons...she was still a little worn out and fell asleep on the way TO the lesson...Ha!
She has been doing so great at horseback riding and it really is so much fun to watch her...she just smiles the whole time. She even trotted on the horse with no one holding or leading her!
Saturday night my Mom and Denny took us all out for Jeff's birthday. We ended the night at our house to watch some football and have some coffee!
 Jeff and me!
Nini, Norah (loving some ice cream!) and Pops
Jeff and Aunt Susan

Today we went to Sunday school and Church...at Church we hosted the table that has some sweet treats on it at the end of the service. It was fun to do because you got to meet more people and talk with everyone which we really enjoyed! Then the day brought naps, Norah went with my mom to Aunt Susan's house, Jeff to work out, me to grocery store, school work for my class this week and of course...football! And I took the plunge and joined Pinterest.

I'm still in the new stages of figuring it all out but so far I really like that you can save recipes all in one place! I have a few I want to try out soon. Well I'm off to get everything ready for a new Monday and a busy week at school to start...

Mid-Week Check-In...

We have really gotten into a routine...I have started working out in the morning hitting the gym right when it opens at 5:30. Monday we both tried working out at different times after work but working out at night is not great for me...I feel yuck when I do it. But Jeff likes working out at night so I went back to mornings. The down side is that I only have 30 minutes to work out in the morning so I have to be super efficient but it makes my day so much better!

I also finished "Still Life" by Louise Penny which was good...it was a mystery but was a little slow paced at first and more about getting to know the characters. I then read "The Giver" by Lois Lowry
The giver is a young adult book that most of my students last year and this year have read. It is a short, easy read but a powerful read. There is so much to take from it and you could discuss...I recommend it.

So I started thinking what I should read next...should I read one of the books that I hope to read in the (hopefully) book club? I decided to read "Skeletons at the Feast" by Chris Bohjalian next as part of the description compares it to "The English Patient" which I loved!

I also really liked how I read a religious book in actual book form while I had a novel on the Kindle. That way I can go back and forth and have the physical book to re-read or reflect on certain parts so I am going to find another religious book to read as well but haven't decided which one yet.

Well time to get back to the weekly grind...we have more work, school, chores, reading, etc. to do until we hit the weekend!! And in two days we will celebrate Jeff's birthday! So I will leave you with another "funny"...this is a classic one...
You know that you want to say this to people! :)

Weekend Review...

You have to check out these Weekend Links HERE and take the "I Side With" quiz and read the article on the "..Princess Bride...not tired of the line". Since the politics stuff drives me a little crazy, I thought the quiz was kinda cool to take and I'm sorry but to this day I even quote that line from "Princess Bride" and it still makes me chuckle!! :)
Speaking of fun movies, Norah came home singing "Do Re Mi" as they learned it in Music class..."Sound of Music" is fabulous and now thinking Norah would like it too!
Then Norah has started saying "Hey you guys" when she is wanting us...and of course all I can think about is the "Goonies"...another movie that I super love!!
Saturday we went to Horseback riding which was great (we sang Do Re Mi all the way there!) and there was a lot of people out there that we knew this time too...so that was fun. I did order Norah boots but they didn't get here in time for the lesson and now I think I will order her some pants too. She is doing great and is really patient with the horse and listens intently to Miss Jane who teaches her. She even rode the horse without Miss Jane leading her at all!
Saturday I also went to eye doctor (new glasses) and we watched football too. Jeff and Norah went to the beach and rode the waves....I wish I had gone!

Today Norah and I went to our Sunday school classes and then headed to Target for a big grocery store trip...the groceries are so much cheaper than the local grocery stores here. After our haul, we came home and then at 3:00...we headed back out for a mother/daughter painting class.

We each painted a high heel shoe...Norah was the youngest there but she did a great job! But by the end she was exhausted and literally the minute we walked in the door...she fell asleep on the couch!!

Ignore the "lips" on Norah's cheek as I gave her a big kiss when she fell asleep. She is so cute! So now Jeff and I are watching football and about to grill out some turkey burgers. Then another week will be starting and the next Friday will be Jeff's birthday!! (Also I want to say a big thanks to my friend Sarah in Charlotte who sent me two boxes of Trader Joe's Pumpkin Bread Mix...you are fabulous!)

TGIF! Wahoo!

I love when Friday gets here...it is so great to know the weekend is just starting. This week has been busy and as Jeff says "transitional." We have been getting back into routine with Jeff/Daddy at home all week and loving it. I've noticed that the house is a little messier this week and I need to get back to menu planning with the three of us here now. Here is a new Menu Planner I found online that you can download for free HERE and the website has other free download planners.
So for some other Internet finds that I thought were fun are these:

These necklaces and key chain can be found HERE . I think the colored ones are really cute!

And check all these goodies out that I found HERE
I would love to get this door print!

I don't really drink that much anymore but I saw these wine tumblers...awesome...MB...you know I thought of you!

And these wooden bangles are cool too..
Then I saw today that Tory Burch is having a sale...I would love to get something but not going to happen! Here are a few things that I thought were pretty fab on the website...

Do you see a theme...all silver! :)

And since my mom is finally getting an iphone in the next couple of weeks...yeah!!...she will need a phone cover so here are a few that are cute...

And for some reason it won't let me upload any more pics for this post...but there are some other cute phone covers at Kate Spade that you can see HERE

Well now it is time to do some cleaning so we can enjoy our weekend...there is a lot of fun happening!
