Baby Shower!

Well last night, Jeff and I were one of 6 couples that hosted a couples baby shower for our friends Ellen and Will (one couple was unable to attend as they are about to have baby #2!). Ellen and I have known each other for 15 years now...we were college roommates and roommates in the real world too! They are having a boy in July and I couldn't be more excited for them! They will make wonderful parents and I can't wait! So I took about 60 pics last night but narrowed it down to 10 so I wouldn't have pic overload! We had BBQ, mac-n-cheese, baked beans, slaw, hush puppies, beer and wine....whew! Shawna hosted it at her house which is awesome...also the weather was great...a little humid at first but no rain and not that hot.

Baby Shower!

Yep...I'm sick again...I swear I have been sicker since I went back to work in August then I have been in the last 10 years. I have strep throat and it sucks. They did give me a shot of penicillin in the buttocks region so I am so hoping that kicks in soon. Of course, those of you that are moms know that it doesn't matter if you are sick...you are still expected to do everything! Jeff had strep throat a month or so ago and he layed in bed for three days...I'm lucky to get a nap in!! Ahhhhh! Oh well what do you do?

So my mom came up this past weekend and we were hoping to go see Darcy but the breeder was busy and we couldn't go so I guess we will meet the little guy on Memorial Day weekend when I pick him up. I think Finn will love having a playmate! The only pic I have taken lately was with my blackberry of Norah riding her bike...she is so cute!

I did watch the movie "Young Victoria" and really liked it but I wanted it to be longer! Well I am so behind on random things I need to do so I'm off to try to get better and get some things done.

Darcy Update

Well this week has been wild! The whole month of May is just crazy busy! I did get some updated pictures of Darcy to share...however, we aren't sure which one is him yet. They match you up more towards personality....but we are listed to get a black male and so since there are only two black males...here they are!!

Well I'm off today to get Norah ready, take her to school, hit up Target, got to Verizon (my phone has been acting up) and on to work! Just a little over two weeks and Darcy will be here!

Darcy Update

Monday...just random stuff

Well I was slack on taking pics this weekend so the ones I have for this post are not that great. Let's see Saturday...Norah said she didn't feel good (I think she has allergies) but to be safe we didn't take her to swim lessons. I hit up Costco with Norah while Jeff cleaned the back porch. Then Jeff left and headed to Charleston for the night to celebrate Jake's graduation. Norah and I hung out and my friend Ellen came over in the late afternoon. She is due in July and is having a little boy...she looks great! She has the cutest baby bump! We ended up going to get some dinner at Hawthorne's pizza so that was nice. Even though we live close by...we are bad about actually seeing each other...we gotta get better about that!

Came back to the house and my neighbors came over and we just sat on the patio...drank some wine and watched the kids play....it was great! I love my neighbors! I did watch the movie "Leap Year" and it was cute. Sunday...Norah and I just played around the house and outside. Jeff got back around 6:45 pm and we just chilled. It was a very low key Mother's Day around here.

Well today I was so tired at work! Mondays are definitely not my favorites. Jeff's parents came over for dinner tonight and now I am about to hit the bed!

These pics aren't that good but she wasn't into taking pics tonight but she came home with 2 pigtails and it was the cutest thing ever! She looks such like a big kid now and not a baby!

On a random note...I really kinda want to start riding a bike. It does scare me to actually ride on the road with cars but there has to be safe places to ride around here. I guess I can always just start riding in the neighborhood first....pretend that I'm like 10 years old and cruise the neighborhood! :)

Monday...just random stuff

A Busy Week...

This week has gone by in a blur. Having Finn with us feels like he has always been here. He has done really well. Most nights I've had to get up once with him to go outside but that is it. I did go running on Monday and walking on Tuesday and Thursday. Work has been busy this week and basically it has been just a non-stop week.

Thursday, Norah woke up and just wasn't her self...she said she didn't feel good...so my neighbor (fabulous Sarah) watched her in the morning and I came home at lunch to be with her the rest of the day. I decided to treat her to a trip to the "ice cream place"...she doesn't get frozen yogurt.

Yoforia just opened in Charlotte beside Trader Joes...Norah got a chocolate yogurt with mini marshmallows, M&Ms, and Gummi bears...

I think she liked it!! We sat outside and she was so into the toppings! It was fun to do something with her during the week just us two. We had a lot of fun!

Then Thursday night I went with my mother-in-law to see Letters to Juliet for a free screening. She got the tickets through where she works. It was cute but I'm glad that I didn't pay $10 to see it! I do love seeing movies...and there was the preview to Eclipse before the movie started...I can't wait till that comes out!

Today I went to Norah's school for a Mother's Day breakfast...it was so sweet! She gave me a paper flower to wear and made me a card and poem. They had answered the questions "What do you want to get your mom for Mother's Day?" and Norah had answered "a cupcake." And "Why do you love your Mommy?" and she said "Because she gives me lots of toys."...how cute!!

Well I'm off to bed! I'm exhausted! Jeff is headed to Charleston tomorrow to go to Uncle Jake's graduation from grad school. I sure will miss him! I hope to post again this weekend and will be sure to get some new pics of Finn up! I'm hoping to also her some updated pics of Darcy too...I get to pick him up in three weeks!

A Busy Week...

Another good night!

Well it is a muggy day here...the humidity is crazy! Late yesterday Christie, Harper, and Perry came over to check out the little guy and he slept the whole time! Last night was great again! We are so lucky with this puppy...we put him in the crate around 9:30 and he cried for about 5 minutes and then he went to sleep. Around 11:30 pm I took him outside and then he cried for about 5 minutes again and went to sleep. Woke up at 6 am and took him out...then we went back to bed until 9 am (that is when Norah woke up)!! He has been so good! Today I hit up Trader Joe's...I actually planned out the meals this week with a handy, dandy week planner Christie brought me...so I made a list of what we needed and stuck to it. Amazing how much you save just sticking to the list!

Well Norah walked Finn on his leash to the neighbors house and here is a cute pic of Norah with the neighbors, William and Davis. They are all so cute!

Jeff is cutting the grass now and Finn is sleeping on the floor. Norah and I are hanging out eating lunch. Once she goes down for a nap...I'm going to try to clean and get laundry started. Then we will watch the finish of the Quail Hollow tournament (I still call it the Wachovia!). And maybe we will have some more visitors checking out Finn this afternoon. Have a Happy Sunday!

Another good night!

Update 1 on Finn (and some random stuff)

I guess the next few updates are going to be pretty much all about the new guy...Finn. Last night went way better than expected. He woke up about 10:15 pm and I took him outside. Then about 10:45 I put him in his crate....(I had warned Jeff that he would probably cry all night so told him he would probably rather sleep in another room...so he slept in the guest room) Well Finn cried until 11:15 pm and then he was out! He slept in his crate and didn't make a sound!! I couldn't believe it! I woke up at 6 am and he was just sitting in his crate looking at me. So I took him outside and he did his thing..then we went back inside and he slept for another hour. It was great!! I hope tonight is the same!

I took him to the vet today to get checked out and looks good so far. He got his first vaccine and we go back in 4 weeks. Norah wants to play with Finn non-stop! He was so tired this morning but she would not let him sleep. So he is taking a nap in his crate now and Norah is taking a nap in her room...they should both be good to go this afternoon!

Well on a non-dog note...I forgot to tell ya'll that they gave me an "easy button" at the conference I went to. Norah has taken it and walks around the house pushing the button and says "That was easy"...it is hilarious.

I just dropped Jeff and a friend of his at the Quail Hollow tournament. Jeff told me that he heard that Tiger's wife, Elin, filed for divorce and is requesting $500 million because he admitted to sleeping with over 120 people...but I haven't read anything on people.com and if ain't on People...it ain't true...yet.

Also what about Sandra Bullock's news...that baby is so cute! Good for her! I am amazed that they kept a baby secret for over 3 months!

Well I guess I'm off to chill for a little while before my little ones get up!
